The core of application management is day to day management, maintenance and renewal of applications (application programs and (data) structures in a responsible businesslike way).
ASL2 has a library for
- Generic process descriptions of all ASL process, with a description of in- and output of all processes and the mutual relations between the processes and the roles of all persons involved
- Templates for important documents (year plans, administering plans, SLAs)
- A (standard) set of reporting agreements
- Checklists and other forms of best practices.
Application management (ASL) completes the (information) management triangle, furthermore consisting of Technical management (ITIL) and Functional management (BiSL)
Course introduction
The ASL course provides an experienced ASL trainer, who guides you through the course material and prepares you for the Exin exam. Integrated exercises are part of the interactive course. Exam preparation is optional. The exam specifications are issued by Exin and offer you an EXIN acknowledged certification. The ASL Foundation exam assesses the theoretical base knowledge of application management. Achieving the ASL Foundation certificate points to knowledge and understanding of:
- The ASL context
- ASL process model and standard products
- The use of ASL
The improved version 2 compared with ASL1
The most important changes are:
- From an internal focus to an external focus
- From single supplier to multi-supplier
- From information processes to chain-information processes
- From stabilizing to organising and anticipation
- New descriptions of processes (better fit to ITIL and BiSL)
Prerequisite
Minimum of 6 months experience in an application development environment.
Target group
The ASL Foundation exam is meant for people who are dealing in daily practice of application management, such as application administrators, functional and technical designers, programmers, testers, team and project managers.
