Product Owner : chef d'orchestre Agile
Être certain que le projet est réaliser dans cadre de la méthode Agile fait partie du travail quotidien du Product Owner mais cela englobe beaucoup.
Véritable chef d’orchestre, le PO est à la fois garant de l’utilisation de la méthode Agile mais aussi de la réalisation du projet. Il fait le lien entre le client et son équipe projet, s’assurant que : le projet avance en temps et en heure, qu’il avance dans la bonne direction et que les souhaits du client soient respectés.
Afin d’atteindre ces objectifs, le Product Owner va gérer son équipe et le travail à faire en priorisant les étapes, aussi appelées ‘sprints’. Il va prendre en considération 4 facteurs pour le faire :
- L’importance de la fonctionnalité pour le client
- L’estimation initiale donnée par l’équipe
- L’expérience apportée
- Le facteur de risque
Le métier de Product Owner évolue en fonction du secteur d’activité et du projet à réaliser mais la base reste la même : chapeauter un projet de A à Z et l’inscrire dans la méthode Agile.
4 qualités à privilégier pour devenir Product Owner
- Organisation du temps, des tâches, de l’équipe
- Rigueur dans la réalisation et dans la méthode
- Communication avec l’équipe et avec le clients
- Attention au détails et aux parties prenantes
Attention à ne pas confondre Product Owner et Product Manager. Le PO va travailler quotidiennement sur le projet ou le produit alors que le Product manager va travailler sur la vision stratégique à long terme du produit. Devenir Product Owner est souvent une étape pour devenir Product Manager.
